Nurseries aren’t just designed for babies anymore. Today’s parents are realizing that their comfort and happiness is important too and that’s being reflected in today’s nursery designs. Parents are creating baby rooms that have more trendy colors that adults enjoy and they’re also adding furniture that will keep themselves, as well as, Baby comfy during those 3:00am feedings. A happy parent makes a happy baby, so why not create a nursery that suits your style and comfort needs as well.
Below are a few suggestions on how to make your baby’s nursery “mommy” friendly.
- Add a big, cushy glider with ottoman to the nursery. This will keep you comfy during those late night feedings. A glider will allow you to have ultimate comfort after being woken out of a deep sleep. You’ll be able to sink in and put your feet up while keeping your baby comfy too.
- Get a combination Dresser/Changer that has a space for a changing pad on one side for diaper changes, plus a smaller area where you can place a coaster to hold your soda or morning coffee. Place the changer close to the glider so you have a convenient spot for holding your drink as you feed your baby hers.
- Place a soft area rug on the floor so your baby/mommy playtime is comfy for you and your little one. Add toys that are interactive to the play area so you can join in the fun.
If you create a nursery that’s comfy for Baby and for you then your mommy/baby bonding time will be the best it can be!
